/ Services — Speed & conversion ( 02 )
Every second costs you orders.
Shopify speed optimization and conversion work, done the unglamorous way: find where people wait or hesitate, fix it, measure it, repeat. More orders from the traffic you already pay for.
Starting at
$4,500
Typical timeline
2–6 weeks
How we bill
Fixed sprint or monthly
/ The usual suspects
Where the seconds go
01Oversized images and autoplay video
02Apps you stopped using in 2023, still loading
03Theme code stacked by years of quick fixes
04Fonts and trackers blocking the first paint
Where the orders go
05Product pages that don’t answer the obvious question
06Carts that surprise people with shipping
07Checkouts asking for more than they need
08Mobile layouts designed on a desktop
We fix in small, measured steps, every change tested against real numbers, so you know what worked and what didn’t. No redesign required.
/ Fit
Who this work pays off for.
This work suits stores with traffic and a decent product that simply lose people on the way to the buy button.
( Good use of your money if… )
+You have at least a few thousand sessions a month
+Ad costs are rising and the maths is getting tight
+Your site feels slow on a phone and you know it
+You’d rather fix the store than redesign it
( Spend it elsewhere if… )
–Traffic is tiny and marketing will move the needle more
–The product itself isn’t landing yet
–You want a guaranteed percentage in writing

/ How the tuning runs
Measure, change one thing, measure again.
Unglamorous and effective.
01
Week 1
Measure
Real user data first: Core Web Vitals from actual visitors, funnel drop-off by step and device, session recordings where the numbers look odd.
02
Week 1
Prioritise
Every finding ranked by orders at stake against effort. We start where the payback is quickest, not where the work is most fun.
03
Weeks 2–6
Fix
Images, scripts, apps and theme code first, then the buying journey: product page, cart, checkout. Small changes, shipped continuously.
04
Ongoing
Prove
Before and after on the same metric, same segment. If a change didn’t help, we say so and roll it back.

Speed & CRO, explained
Shopify store speed comes down to how much your pages ask a phone to download and run before someone can buy. In practice the same culprits show up store after store: hero images shipped at full resolution, autoplay video, half a dozen apps injecting scripts into every page, fonts blocking the first paint, and years of theme edits nobody removed. Fixing those is measured against Core Web Vitals (largest contentful paint, interaction latency and layout shift), using data from your real visitors rather than a lab score.
Conversion work is the same discipline applied to the buying journey: the product page that doesn’t answer the obvious question, the cart that surprises people with shipping, the checkout asking for a phone number it doesn’t need. We change one thing at a time and keep what wins. If you’d rather have the diagnosis without committing to the work, a store audit is the cheaper first step; if the theme itself is the problem, a rebuild may be the honest answer.
/ FAQ ( 07 )
What people ask before starting conversion work.
How much will my conversion rate improve?
We don’t know yet, and neither does anyone who quotes you a number before seeing your store. What we can promise is that every change is measured and the ones that don’t work get reverted.
How fast should a Shopify store be?
Aim for a usable product page in under 2.5 seconds on a mid-range phone on 4G. Most stores we meet sit between 4 and 6 seconds, and most of that is images and apps.
Do we need a redesign?
Usually not. The majority of speed and conversion gains come from removing weight and clarifying the buying path inside the theme you already have.
Will removing apps break anything?
Not if it’s done carefully. We check what each app actually does on the storefront, replace anything you rely on, and stage the removals so you can see the effect one at a time.
Do you run A/B tests?
When traffic supports it. Below roughly 20,000 sessions a month, tests take months to reach significance. At that size we make well-reasoned changes and watch the trend instead of pretending to have statistics.
Can you improve our PageSpeed score?
We can, but the score isn’t the goal. A store can score well and still feel slow. We optimise the experience real visitors have and let the score follow.
How long until we see results?
Speed changes show up immediately. Conversion changes need enough orders to judge, which is usually two to four weeks.
